Thanks, Joe! I've been pulling parts of the book into this Substack--mainly the Keller and Twain stuff from the last two months--hope to do more of it in the coming weeks.

I distinctly remember talking about this Substack at dinner with you and your dad at one of our dinners! Looking forward to your seeing more of your work this Friday, Izzy! I will ask lots of questions and make your classmates be like "somebody come get your Dad and make him stop asking questions."

What an accomplishment, Dan, congrats! Also, thank you for providing a visual aid of what Amy Sedaris looks like - I swear just yesterday I was explaining to Wes who she is.

Amy Sedaris is one of the most underappreciated comedians out there. Strangers with Candy, anyone? At Home with Amy Sedaris is the only cooking show I respect. Come get me, Substack!

I completely agree! Also, Cole Escola as Chassie Tucker in At Home with Amy Sedaris? Talk about underrated!

Congratulations, Dan! As a former English teacher and sales manager, now a fundraiser, I have appreciated your perspective on the intersections of my professional life. That’s something my family has been trying to grasp for 40 years!

Thanks, Brandon. Child #2 just started a new job at an ice cream place and doesn't like the way people ask her to do stuff. I'm trying to get her to write about it.

Congrats Dan! Eat some waffles to celebrate! Also - Amy Sedaris is not a figment of Kaitlyn’s imagination after all!

Wes, I'm ashamed of myself that in our Romanticism seminar in 2017 I never paused the class to just do a greatest hits of Amy Sedaris and then asked you all to write a 5 page paper equating her comedy to nineteenth-century British poetry. Or that I didn't encourage you to explore to comedy stylings of the entire Sedaris family in your thesis. Your education is incomplete, young man. The fault is my own. The pen falls from my hand...
