A rather vocal subset of Fundraising For Breakfast’s readers didn’t care for the whole “pancakes are shit” comment from last week. Some of my favorite reactions were delivered via DM. Here are a few good bites: “You’re going to regret crapping on people’s choice of breakfast food.”
Perhaps the word you are looking for is “instigator”. It’s Merriam-Webster’s word of the day and they define it as “one who causes things to happen or begin”.
I tend to think you're all onto something with this. It's a combination of connection and personality and a willingness to act/instigate. Perhaps my problem is that I'm looking for one word to describe something complex and multilayered. I might be better off concentrating on a combination of features. Look at that...Substack is working for the people! Nicely done, gang.
I like your assessment that the ‘magic word’ you’re searching for is that combination of personality and performance/action. . . We know those special individuals when we meet them but finding a single word to capture that personality/action combination might remain elusive. Maybe you need to do some ‘word-smithing’ and come up with a new word ?? If anyone can do, you can!!!
I'm thinking "connected"
I don’t have the magic word, but it makes me think of charisma…that alluring combo of personality, empathy and a big dose of fun. Love this!
