Thanks so much, Dan! I appreciate you reading and willingness to be curious about this. And you may be pleased to know that I got my Christmas Vermont Country catalog the day after I posted this and flipped through it back to front. Ha!
The Vermont Country Catalog takes me right back to 1969. I can get some “gee your hair smells terrific “ shampoo, or some “Loves Baby Soft” if I want to roll that way. Some Yardley’s slickers, for lip gloss. . . Good times. I take my money advice from the Beatles: Money can’t buy you love.
Great recommendation, Dan. The Psychology of Money is indeed a terrific book. And as a fundraiser myself, I'm also surprised that this hasn't become a staple in our field. I see a movement underway!
I'm amazed that you make money and fundraising -- topics that I'm usually not interested in -- fun and relatable.

Disappointed that this post doesn't include more captures from The Vermont Country Store catalog. And adding The Psychology of Money to my TBR list.

(Although I love catalogs and always scan them back to front.)
Can I ask why you go back to front? Do you think they put the best deals in the back?
It's just a habit I picked up. I used to read newspapers that way too.
Love the Vermont Country Catalog and I visited the store in VT---amazing!
Can't wait to check out the book recommendation at the library this week.
Sounds like an intetesting book. Maybe I should read to psychoanalyse my thoughts on money. They certainly have changed over the years.
