Ha! Thanks Izzy. It's an actual photo. Like, taken on a disposable camera. Those used to be a thing. And, funnily enough, I'm still not helping her carry heavy things to this day. And that, my young friend, is called true love.
To be clear, I'm not even remotely involved in the AU community. The request kind of came out of nowhere. I went back to campus a few years ago for some reason and it's really changed since you and I were there. And I love how you're working to rebrand Child #2 into "Real Child 1" but that little girl doesn't get her way on this one. She took AP Lit not Lang (I believe)
I'm sure you don't remember it, but you were at the party when I took that picture of L. moving the keg. I might even be able to drum up another picture of three of us looking slightly bleary eyed and 20 years younger. Fun times and wonderful memories!
Is that the word, Mary Ann? "Precious"? Is that the word I should remember when I'm being argued with about everything under the sun? I'll hold on to "precious" just as long as I can...
Someday you and I are going to sit down and binge watch Derry Girls together, Julie. And then I'm going to explain to you why and how Orla is my spirit animal.
Orla's dance in the v. last episode is a fav of mine! As well as the time she danced for the talent show and the whole gang joined her. Such a great show!!!!!!!! Anytime friend!
"School spirit" might be a bit strong...but seriously, congratulations on all the great success. Nobody ever really gets to take a victory lap after a big campaign is done, but I hope you and your team were able to celebrate some really great work.
that pic of your wife and the story to go along with it is adorable 🩷🩷🩷

Sounds like my daughter's school (rhymes with witty).
The burst pipe that sends kids home early and has working adults scrambling to rearrange schedules to pick them up? No kidding!
Great Post Dan !
I have heard that English majors (and effective teachers in general) make great salespeople, primarily because of all the things you listed.
I love that you’re still involved in the AU community. Feels like a lifetime ago.
Did RC1 ever take AP Lang? She would have learned all about the power of rhetoric.
