My dad once sent the Thanksgiving table into near-meltdown by trying to remember the name of a movie starring Robert De Niro and "that guy who's like Russell Crowe but isn't Russell Crowe." At long last, we concluded the movie was The Insider, starring Al Pacino and....Russell Crowe.

Great sharing. I guess something similar to friends and family mobile numbers. I used to remember them and now perhaps a few digits and sometime not at all!

I worked for two CEOs at McCormick that had a gift for remembering everyone’s name after meeting them just once. As someone junior in the company then, I was blown away they greeted me by name, so remembering names is powerful! That said, I am not very good at it, either. I try to repeat the name of someone I meet during our conversation, or when we say goodbye, ‘So nice to meet you, Dan.’ Then I say the name a few times in my head as I walk away. This small tip helps me a lot.

Love this!

I must say, remembering names is one thing, but pronouncing them correctly is another challenge. I often spend more time helping someone get my name right than actually connecting with them. Tbh, I too am no better at pronouncing names correctly🤦🏽‍♀️

PS: Dan, your problem may be hearing. I thought mine was ok too!

I have always been terrible with names. I used to always remember faces. Unfortunately, after 40 years of practice, even some of the faces do not come to thr front.

It is an inherited trait. My grandmother used to call all of us Davetimtommark. Relationships are not just about names.
